Prior to wearing the uniform and earning the privilege
of being titled Young Marine, all participants in the program are required to complete a 12-week “boot camp” training
session, where they will learn the basics skills necessary to be a Young Marine. These skills include but are not limited
to: physical fitness training, close order drill, military terms and jargon, discipline and respect for self and others.
The $150 registration fee per applicant pays for initial issue of cover, YM tee shirt, belt, boot bands,
name tapes, patches, ribbons, classroom materials & first 3 months dues. Camouflage uniforms and boots will be issues at the completion of recruit training. All patches, insignia, etc remain the property of the unit. ALL
Applicants are required to provide a copy of their
birth certificate, Social Security card and medical insurance
card. A minimum deposit of $25 per applicant is required at time of registration. Balances
due must be paid by 1200 the 3rd week of training. PLEASE NOTE: individuals are allowed 2 excused absences during the recruit training phase.
